Tech Stars is the brainchild of entrepreneurs Brad Feld, David Cohen, David Brown and Jared Polis. Earlier this year, they set out to find 10 early-stage companies. Those chosen received $15,000, office space in Boulder and countless hours of mentorship from the founders and 40 other mentors who have walked in their shoes.
TechStars, a for-profit organization, has taken a 5 percent equity stake in each of the companies.
“I’m blown away. When they first showed up, they were really rough but smart and passionate,” said Feld. “All of them have really figured out what their business is.” [...].
“We’ve exceeded expectations,” Polis said. “More of these companies are in a fundable position.”
