Jared Polis for Congress

Environmentalist Will Shafroth and entrepreneur Jared Polis called for Congress to cut off funds for the war and demand a detailed plan for troop withdrawal.

“The world is not a safer place now than it was 4½ years ago for my children or anyone else’s children,” Shafroth said. “If elected, I will work hard to reverse the failed policies of the Bush Administration.”

Polis, who said he grew up in a family in which anti-Vietnam War sentiment was strong, called Bush’s decision to invade Iraq an “unmitigated disaster.”

“I will always see war as an absolute last resort,” Polis said.
