Besides the formal appearance — the pressed white shirt, the light blue tie, the pin-striped black slacks and the slip-on shoes — Jared Polis didn’t look much different from the audience gathered around him at a community center in Thornton on a recent June evening.
He answered questions with little hesitation and attentively listened as a dozen or so folks shared with him their accounts of falling into foreclosure and staving off bankruptcy.
