Background: Founded Bluemountain.com and Proflowers.com, among other technology companies. Created the Jared Polis Foundation. Played a leadership role in building a coalition to pass Amendment 23 and co-chaired a $300 million capital improvement bond initiative in the Boulder Valley School District. Founded and served as superintendent of the New America School, which serves more than 1,000 new immigrant students in Colorado. Co-founded The Academy of Urban Learning to provide homeless youth and youth in transitional housing an opportunity to earn a high school diploma. Served on the board of Colorado Conservation Voters.
